Personalization Beyond First Names Using the recipient's first name in subject lines increased open rates by 7%. But personalization based on behavior — referencing a recent purchase, browsing activity, or membership anniversary — increased open rates by 26%.

Numbers and Specificity Subject lines containing specific numbers outperformed vague alternatives by 36%. Odd numbers performed slightly better than even numbers, and specific figures outperformed rounded ones.
